My hometown

The street where I was born will be demolished later this year to make place for new houses. I got the opportunity to visit my place of birth just after the last residents left to make some pictures. I once had a whole project in mind to document the entire street before it was gone, but it never took of.

Under the vulcano

Last April my wife and I visited Fuerteventura and Lanzarote for the first time. We had a nice short holiday to reload the battery and what a great place it was! We were located in Corralego in the North of Fuerteventura and it took only a ten minutes walk from our hotel to get to the harbor. From there you could take a ferry to Lanzarote and the to the little Isla de Lobos, both islands well worth visiting.

Girls from the hood

I’m a bit ashamed to tell, but I bought this beautiful camera on a bargain some years ago and then it sat in it’s box hardly used at all until today. So armed with some Kodak Portra roles I took out for some landscape photography and boy did I have fun! In this digital age I found it quite relaxing to take your time before each shot. But above all to look down in that magnificent viewfinder.

NDSM is the historical remainder of the largest shipyard in Amsterdam, now developing itself into a creative city. It’s a very photogenetic place where a lot is going on. If you’re interested, you can find more info at the NDSM website. The trip was organized by fellow members of Fotogroep Haarlem.

Occhio photoshoot

On December 19th, 2013 I organized a photoshoot at the place where I work: Occhio Webdevelopers. The company website was 5 years old and needed replacement badly, but there was hardley any time left in the busy schedule to work on our own website. At the beginning of the same month we decided that the way to go was a hackathon, where we would build the entire website in 48 hours, starting at friday morning on January 3rd 2014 and ending the next sunday.
